About the Soap Box Racing Program
The Sheriff's Youth Foundation Soap Box Racing Program is a fun activity for young people from age 8 to 17. This program is educational besides being fun. The young people will gain more self-esteem and better social skills. The participates learn to be a team member and when called upon be the team leader. The young people get a chance to apply knowledge that they learn in school in the area of science and mathematics. They learn how to succeed because they learn from their failures as individuals and as a team. They learn failures are necessary in order to become real champions. They develope a better understanding and a greater appreciation for the local law enforcement officers as well.

The race year begin in August of the current year and ends in July of the following year.
